Urine Test Done, Eschierichia Coli, WBC Pus Cell. Is There Any Complications?

Hi Doctor, This is regarding my 17-month daughter Tanisha. We ave done a urine culture and urine routine done which says that she has got Eschierichia Coli organism and that her WBC / Pus cells count is 20-30hpf. We have a doctor appointment in 2 days, but are a bit worried as we dont know how to interpret the test results. Do you think there are any serious implications/problems? Regards, Saurav Ghosh

Urologist 's  Response
Hi.
My first advise is not to be panic. Your child is having urinary tract infection. Any infection in a child have to be evaluated to find the cause. Your child will need kidney function test, ultrasound of the abdomen, x-ray called voiding cysturethrogram. I hope you are visiting a urologist or paediatric surgeon.
