Urge to pass stool but nothing comes out. No relief by taking milk of magnesia. What's going on?

I feel like I have a loose stool/ diarrhea but when I try to go, it barely comes out. I have to try really hard to get anything out, and it hurts really bad. I took milk of magnesia to try to get myself to go, but its just producing alot of gas, and is still painful when trying to pass a stool. If I were to push any harder I feel I will cause damage.

welcome to healthcaremagic
you should not be straining alot because you will develop piles and already one of the symptoms is anal pain to reduce the soreness sit in warm salty water for 15 to 30mins it will help.
the feeling of passing stool and nothing coming out can be brought about if you have gas filled in the stomach which can be due to hyperacidity.
you need to be investigated if you are constipated or we are dealing with something else.
would suggest see a specialist to do a workup on you and then do the necessary treatment,
hope to have answered your query
