Upset Stomach, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Yellow Foul Smelling Foamy Stools. Cure For Symptoms?

My stomach was upset sunday, and i vomited sunday night. since then i have not vomited any more, but have Had diarrhea for the past four days and my stomach is still upset. The diarrhea is not painful. It started as yellow and smelly and now is white and a little foamy. Is this a common flu symptom or should I be going to see a doctor?

Hi Cfarrally,
Thanks for writing your query.

It seems that you are having acute gastroenteritis, an infection of gastroenteritis.
It needs medical attention and should be properly investigated and managed medically.

You should get your stool examined to know the causative organism and start antibiotic like ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day and antiamoebic like metronoidiazole 400 mg thrice a day according to the report of the sample.

In addition, you should take antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg once a day along with Domperidone 10 mg
and a probiotic praparation.Take any medicine under medical supervision only.

Care should be taken for maintaing adequatte hydration. Pure water should be used for drinking in addition to Oral Rehydration Fluid if feeling dehydrated.

You should have light meals with less spice and oil and food should be prepared in hygeinic conditions.

If the problem persists, get yourself examined clinically.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
