Upper Lip Is Red And Painful With Burning Sensation. Taken Hydrocortisone OTC And Retin A. Will I Get Scars?

I went to salon for upper lip waxing and I feel I burned my upper. Its red, burning and painful. Hardly able to open mouth. India/brown skin tone I have and burn area looks dark red. I am on Retin A treatment which make my face dry and peels skin off. Wedding month from now. I went and got hydrocortizone OTC and silver curad OTC. What shold I be doing? I dont want scars and acne on my face.

Hi,
You seem to have irritant contact dermatitis due to retin A gel and waxing material. Stop to apply retin A and avoid waxing upper lip. Apply antibiotic cream initially for few days then, apply mild steroid cream. Take antihistaminic like levocetirizine and steroids in tappering dose for short period. Avoid soap for face wash. You may be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
