Upper Back Pain, Swollen Bump, Painful When Moving

About a week ago a woke iup with a terrible pain in my upper back just to the inside of my right shoulder blade. It felt like a muscle pull. I discovered there was a swollen bump which has not gone away. It is not painful to the touch however a little painful when I move. Lump is about 2 inches in diameter and sticks out 1/2 inch

It seems that you had a muscle pull at your shoulder joint.

You should give proper rest to your shoulder. Do not lift heavy weights from that side.

Pain killers like Diclofenac 50 mg twice a day after meals along with antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg along with muscle relaxant like Tizanidine 2 mg twice a day for 5-7 days will provide some relief.
Take medicines under medical supervision only. Hot fomentation and application of local pain relieving gel will be helpful.

Physiotherapy is very beneficial in such cases.

If the problem persists, get yourself examined by an Orthopedician.
