Unprotected Sex. Taken Ipill Within 3 Hours Of Intercourse. Safe To Take And Chances Of Pregnancy?

hello Doctor XXXXXX, i want to know about ipills, is ipill safe and can prevent pregnancy after sex if taken within 2-3 hours. i had sex yesterday with my bf and i am tensed about pregnancy as my period cycle is expecting in this 7 or 8 th of july. so please clear mu doubts. i had taken ipills within 2 hours after ad sex. os am i safe or is there stiil chances of concieve.

hi,
i pill if taken within 72 hours after intercourse it will protection,
as you taken within 2 hours it will give protection most probably,
but it is having 1% failure rate, so chances of pregnancy cannot be completely excluded,
as you had intercourse nearer to your expected date of periods,
and as ovulation generally will not occur on those days, chance of fertilization is less,
but frequent taking of pills can affect menstrual cycles,
so better to shift to regular method of contraception.
