Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

A simple CBC may not identify the cause of bruising. Further investigations including PT, aPTT, etc should be done. What is the platelet count. Please consult your doctor for further investigations to find out the exact cause of bruising.
Does any body else in the family have bruising as well?

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

General & Family Physician Dr. Guru's  Response
Hi,

Unexplained bruises on arms, legs can occur because of different conditions like ITP (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura), Henoch Scholein purpura(HSP), some anti-blood clotting drugs, aging, thombocytopenia from various other causes, some kind of infections and many more. In order to identify the particular cause, you need to undergo a physical examination and few other investigations apart from CBC.

Take Care!
