First you should get investigated for cause of low weight as many illness may lead to weight loss. Apart from that depression itself, can lead to poor appetite and weight loss.
Vice versa low weight lead to decrease self esteem and depression.

You should also go thyroid function test as its dysfunction may lead to both depression and weight loss. It is also more common in middle aged female.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Wish you Good Health.
