Undergone Vaginal Hysterectomy And Had Blood Transfusion. Sharp Stabbing Pain Under Ribs. What Could It Be?

Hi my name is casey and have just not quite 2 weeks ago had a vaginal hysterectomy i also had to have a blood transfusion. Last night around midnight i was woken with a very sharp stabbing pain under my right side ribs i cant take a deep breath in or out and am in a bit of pain stabbing pain i cant lay flat on my back nor on either side its to much pain . What do you think this could be ???

Hello.There are differents pathologies that can cause rib pain: Herpes zoster, costal muscle rupture, pneumothorax...You must go to your doctor.

He will examine you, and will request, if deems it appropriate, additional tests (for example chest x-ray) to establish right diagnosis and treatment.
