Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern. But with the information provided, the cause is not one of concern.
The presentation you are experienced could be due to two reasons, either one of them or both put together.
The first, is the long gap between the last sexual contact, which causes a slight change in the pelvic muscles and those of the vagina and
cervix, causing it to tighten a tad bit, which can cause some pain.
The other is the fact that you have had a
partial hysterectomy, which can cause a drop in your level of hormones. This coupled with the fact that you are middle-aged (assuming from the scenario), which means you are soon approaching menopause; can cause a decrease in the production of lubrication, and this friction can cause the
pain during intercourse.
There are many solutions for the same. You could use a sterile lubricant to reduce friction or
estrogen creams that you can apply inside your vagina. Both should greatly help.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
