Unable To Sleep After Drinking Alcohol, Chest Tightness, Abdominal Pain, Vomiting. Cause Of Worry?
Hello. I ve not been able to sleep twice this week. Both occasions I had been drinking. 6-8 drinks. I had chest tightness, shortness of breathe, sharp pain in left abdominal and back and I vomitted both times. This flares up on occasion but I had went months of drinking without any of the above issues even with higher volume of comsumption. Worried that maybe something is wrong?
Alcohol can cause gastritis due increase in the acidity in the stomach.
This seems to be the cause of pain in abdomen in your case. The pain can occur even if you never had such pain before because damage to mucosa of the stomach can be gradual and can develop slowly in due course of time.
You should avoid alcohol and spicy foods.
AntacidOmeprazole 20 mg alongwith Domperidone 10 mg will be helpful. Take medicines under medical supervision only.
Also get an Endoscopy done to evaluate the condition of the mucosa of your stomach.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
