Ultrasound Of Testicles Done, Uder Pain. What Are The Findings From The Report?

My husband has had an ultrasound of his testicles that showed bilateral ingunial hernias, epididymal oorchitis, 3 small epididamyl cysts, and greater blood flow on the L. His labs showed WBC->12.5 CRE-1.47 and greater than 30 protein in his urine. The ER sent him home w a referral to a urologist and he is in a lot of pain now 3 days later...what is this?

Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Inguinal hernias are herniation of bowel or fat through the inguinal openings in the groin region. The need to be examined by a surgeon for further management.

Epididymo orchitis is infection of the testes and epididymis. This is a low grade infection and usually treated by antibiotics.

The flow of blood is greater in left testes because the infection has affected it more. Possibly that is the cause for pain also. Please do not worry.

Consult an urologist and take antibiotics and pain killer medications.

Hope this helps
