Tying To Conceive. Stopped Birth Control. Had Short Period. Why?

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I stopped taking birth control right after Christmas. I had a normal period towards then end of January, and about 16 days later had a very short, but heavy period. I have not had another period since then. I took a pregnancy test , but it came back negative. Is it normal to have another short period (only 2 days) that close to a normal one?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on health care magic.
Duration of menstrual flow anytime between 1 - 7 days is considered to be normal.
So you need not worry.
Start taking folic acid tablets. It helps in reducing incidence of neural tube defects in the child.
Wish you good luck.
Hope this helps.
regards,
Dr Nilofer
