Two Small Knobs On The Bottom Of Tongue That Hurts While Moving Or Swallowing

I have two small knobs on the bottom of my tongue near the back where the jaw meets and it hurts to move my tongue/swallow. I have has these appear sometimes in the morning since I was around 10 years old. It feels as if a muscle was tightening or swollen, like a 'Charlie Horse' in one's foot. It usually fades over time, but the pain from moving even slightly is horribly pinching and it is impossible to talk.

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the swollen knobs on the under side of tongue can be due to clogged duct of minor Salivary gland causing swelling in duct of salivary gland or it can also be due to ruptured duct of the gland leading to spillage of mucous into the soft tissues and causing lump formation and the lumps are known as MUCOCELES..
In your cases it is the case of RECURRING MUCOCELES which when gets stretched while moving tongue or filling by mucous can lead to slight pain and tightness..
You should visit an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case of Mucoceles as they are recurrent the treatment is Surgical excision of the mucoceles..
Small cysts can be removed by laser ablation..
You can do concentrated salt water rinses as they help in shrinkage of the mucoceles..

Hope this information helps..
