Trying to sleep but there is a tingling feeling

Lately, on some days when I try to go to sleep, my while body starts tingling. It s very annoying and when I open my eyes, it goes away. When I close my eyes to try to sleep, it starts. I really want to try to stop this but I don t know how.. What should I do? I m a girl who is almost 16 years old. What I noticed was that when I sleep during the day (today was 3-4 hours after school) I have the problem at night. At least I think so.

Psychiatrist Dr. Keerthish Shetty's  Response
At your age, transient stress related problems are common. Try following a good sleep hygiene (some points which improve sleep quality like sleeping everyday at same time, no exercise or tea/coffee before sleep etc). Contact a specialist for more details if the problem persists.

Hi I m 26 years old and lately I ve been feeling a strange tingling feeling as well as some slight pain on the right side of my brain. This doesn t happen every night but it does put me in a very deep sleep. No matter how hard I try to wake myself up it just makes me more drained. I go to sleep at a normal time like 10pm and wake up at 7am but when this effect takes over I sleep until 9am but I m left feeling tired the rest of the day so I take short naps because I m a mother of three. I just like to know how serious this could possibly be. Thank you for your time.

Lately I have been waking up with that sleeping feeling in both of my knees. They are numb and start tingling once I move them and stretch. I have no history of knee problems, and currently do not have any pain or swelling. This only happens when I am sleeping on my back, I have tried to sleep with my legs elevated to see if that helps, but is does not seem to make a difference. Is this something I should be concerned about? Or is this just a minor inconvenience I have to deal with?

I have been bothered with a tongue condition for about a year. It seems to come and go but is mostly an annoyance when I am trying to go to sleep. My tongue looks normal but sometimes feels like it is too big for my mouth. When trying to sleep I seem to want to force it against my teeth and roof of my mouth. It burns and tingles too. I have asked my dentist and my General Practitioner but no one has an answer.

Since March I have had level II pitting edema in my legs and feet (about 8-15 of fluid) twice. My cardiologist refers to this as right-sided heart failure. My liver and kidneys are fine, EKG and echo normal and no blood clots. I had a right heart catheter that revealed a pulmonary wedge pressure of 20. They did not check the left side of my heart. I was prescribed Lasix and told take it from time to time as needed, and Spiranolactone to take indefinetly. I have mild obstructive sleep apnea and was told this may be causing the elevated right-sided pressure which eventually leads to the edema. I wear a CPAP every night. I feel very tired at points in the day to where I cannot hold my eyes open, and I am also extremely bloated in my stomach. I feel pressure near my sternum. A tight band sensation wraps from my back around to chest at the sternum level, which makes wearing a bra complete torture. The last thing is that most mornings upon waking I will gag until I vomit. Please help me I am desperate for answers and have been to ten doctors. Stacie

I suffered a compound fractured patella requiring surgery/wiring 8 weeks ago. Since then I have struggled to get back into any sort of normal sleeping pattern resulting in about 4-6 interrupted hours of sleep at different times over the course of the day. I have been taking 10mg diazepam that has helped with anxiety but not sleeping

about two weeks ago, i started waking up every night, not sure what causes me to wake. but, while i am laying there, my heart stops beating for a second and then restarts as normal. it will happen about three or four more times and then i eventually fall back to sleep. and then two nights ago, every time i go to lay down i get a horrible headache, when i stand up, it goes away. so, i was just wondering if i should be worried?
