Trying To Conceive. Negative Pregnancy Test. Abnormal Period. Prescribed Orgamed. Will It Cause Problems?

I am trying for conceiving for last 3 months. My last normal period was 26th May, 2013. Then on 21st June the period lasted for only 1-2 days and in very little amount. Then in July and till now there is no period. But, after urine test for pregnancy done on 2nd Aug, 13, it is showing negative. Afetr consulting doctor, he prescribes orgamed-10 to take twice daily for 5 days. But, i still think that i may have conceived, but urine test did not tell properly as i used to drink large amt of water before going to bed. I am thinking if i take orgamed tab. it may cause miscarriage if i have conceived or it may have negative effects on my conceiving. Is my such thinkings are right or wrong ? Should I take orgamed tab. now or wait for 7-10 days and do another pregnancy test after 6-7 days. Please suggest me quicky. I am in great frustration and dilemna what to do now ?

Hello Good Evening,

You have missed period, which is due to some common reason like:

-Pregnancy
-Menopause
-Stress and anxiety
-Excessive weight loss, or weight gain
-Hormonal imbalance
-Hypothyroidism
-PCOS

Menopause is not applicable to you but pregnancy and any other of them can be a cause for your missing period, so please go through proper evaluation to get other causes like hypothyroidism or PCOS.

PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) produces symptoms in approximately 5% to 10% of women of reproductive age (12–45 years old). It is thought to be one of the leading causes of female sub-fertility and the most frequent endocrine problem in women of reproductive age.

The principal features are anovulation, resulting in irregular menstruation, amenorrhoea, ovulation-related infertility, and polycystic ovaries; excessive amounts or effects of androgenic (masculinizing) hormones, resulting in acne and hirsutism; and insulin resistance, often associated with obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol levels.

The symptoms and severity of the syndrome vary greatly among affected women.

USG will tell the whole story of your pregnancy.
So do not get confused and go for a USG first then TSH and other investigation to find out the cause of amenorrhoea, and then start orgamed-10.

Regards,

Dr. Naresh Jain.
