Treatment For Rashes In Underarms, Dandruff, Itching Dry Patches?
I have seborrhea dermitiis, at least I am told. I get rashes under my arms, in the crease of my butt. My face gets red and burns and flakes off. My scalp has always had some dandruff, but the last year I have thick dry patches that itch and weep.. nothing has helped. I get depressed about ti..been to countless docotrs.. I also feel drogging like a hang over when the face is really bad.. I have gas a lot and have to go right after I eat..
Seborrheic dermatitis commonly affects the scalp, face(eyebrows, eyelashes, sides of nose, upper lip and chin) with red, scaly patches associated with itching. Chest, axilla and groins may also be variably involved. It has a remitting and relapsing course.
Treatment involves using an Antidandruff lotion e.g 2% ketoconazole for shampoo thrice weekly for 2-4 weeks followed by once or twice weekly for maintenance. Your dermatologist might also suggest a steroid lotion for scalp application for severe dandruff associated with adherent, greasy flakes.
Facial, chest and other sites involved with seborrheic dermatitis can be treated with a moderately potent topical steroid for 2-4 weeks and thereafter with a topical immunomodulator e.g tacrolimus for maintenance of improvement.
take care regards
