Treatment For Frequent Urination With History Of Bladder Infections?

Last Friday (all day & night) I experienced frequent urination with extreme pressure. The results of a urinalysis indicated a trace of urine ketones, occult blood & leukocyte esterase of 3+, RBC of 100, WBC of 180 & bacteria of 1+ (colony count of normal skin/urethral flora of 10,000 org/ml). Although I am no longer experiencing pain when urinating, I am still urinating small amounts at a time frequently. I also have a long history of chronic bladder infections. My urologist won t be in until tomorrow, but was told by his office that I don t need to worry, since I have no infection. How insistent should I be in following this up?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your urine report suggest Many RBCs and WBC in urine. So it is suggestive of some urinary tract infection. You should go for urine culture and sensitivity testing and take antibiotics treatment accordingly.

You can take drugs like norfloxacin or levofloxacin but it is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment according.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
