Treated With Urea Cream For Red, Rough Patches On Shin, Even Under Buttocks. What To Do ?
Hi, I have been treated with Urea cream for red, rouch patches on my shins, but it is not working. I also have rough, itchy skin right under my buttocks (I'm not fat; in fact I am in very good shape so it's not like I have a friction issue or skin folds). If I don't put aquaphor on the areas it feels uncomfortable. If I dont itch them they don't itch. If I do itch them they itch very much. I have been dealing with this for about two years. Sometimes the skin looks perfect and other times it's these rough red patches. I don't know what to do. Underneath my buttocks the skin now has a faint darker color (not really noticeable), but still strange. I am 29 y/o male. And I do not use any medications that I would have brought this about. The Urea cream seems to do nothing. What do you think I should do?

You might be suffering from a fungal infection.
Another possibility is psoriasis,
This type of presentation is also seen in hypothyroidism.
Please get your thyroid levels tested.
A biopsy may be needed to differentiate this.
