Tore The Laproscopic Rotator Cuff Repair, Sutures Still Attached, Muscle Pulled Away. Advice ?
hi. i had a laproscopic rotator cuff repair in 2010 which was sucessful. i tore it again in 2012 and had an open surgery in september 2012. it was doing well with physical therapy until december when it began hurting again. an mri revealed more tearing and when dr reopened in april 2013 he found the sutures still attached but muscle pulled away. he repaired it with open surgery and a patch. It was doing ok until now with physical therapy but now feels like it is going bad again. my dr says there is nothing else to do and that is unacceptable.any advice would help.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The tearing of the rotator muscle repair needs to be repaired again surgically to get rid of the symptoms that you are having. This is not likely to heal spontaneously due to the fibrous tissue present. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
