Top Of Front Tooth Under The Gums After Hitting On Wooden Headboard, Not Taken Food. Reason?

My 3 yr old was jumping on my bed and then hit her mouth on my wooden headboard, After getting the bleeding to stop I look to see how bad is her gum. I could see the top of her front tooth that is suppose to be under the gums. Should I take her to the ER? She also hasn't eaten or drink anything thing since last night and I am very worried.

Hi, your 3 year old hit against the head board and there was bleeding, after bleeding is stopped the root of the front tooth is visible.
I advise you to consult a pediatric dentist, or a dentist for relief. He will set the tooth, so that it may heal quickly. Thank you.

hi. i hve gone through your query and it seems the tooth has been extruded from its socket because of the injury . It is advisable if you consult a pedodontist as soon as possible. Delay may lead to infection in the traumatised area and further may interfere with eruption of permanent tooth.
The possible line of treatment may be pulpotomy or extraction of the traumatised tooth followed by space maintainer.
please consult a pedodontist for beter diagnosis and treatment plan.thank you

Hi

Thanks for writing in.

As per your history,i would suggest you to consult a pediatrician for better treatment. It might require extraction if clinical condition is poor.
You may give her ibugesic syrup in case she has pain.
Start with analgesic & antibiotic & proceed for treatment as early as possible.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that after the injury there is intrusion of the teeth and swelling in the gums, this requires an immediate attention, i would suggest you to take your child to Pedodontist.
Depending upon the condition of the teeth it could be removed, or treated.
Give your child semisolid diet.
Ibugesic syrup should be given thrice.
Give your child antiseptic and lukewarm saline rinses.

Hope you find this as helpful,

Regards..
