Toothache, Sensitive Teeth, Numbness In Lips. Reason?

I've had a weird toothache for the past few days (left side, one upper, a couple lower) and I thought it was maybe due to switching toothpastes, because I have sensitive teeth. But I started noticing a weird, almost numb, feeling in the upper left side of my lip. I plan on going to a doctor tomorrow afternoon when I get back home, but I was wondering if what I'm experiencing is something to be worried about and if I should take immediate action. Emergency room, etc? Or if there was something I could do now before I see the doctor?

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.

A thorough clinical evaluation by a dentist is necessary to rule out the cause of toothache.

Chances of decayed or sensitive teeth is very high.

Get the teeth restored as well as scaling done.

Use d e se nsitising toothpaste to clean your teeth.

Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Toothache indicates infection in the tooth that have spread to the pulpal tissue such type of infected tooth needs to be root canal treated to save it permanently.
I would suggest you to visit to the Dentist and get the checkup done take an x-ray of the tooth and plan for the treatment.
Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics.

Hope you find this as helpful,

hello
sensitivity of teeth occurs when the gingival over the tooth root recedes and the root is exposed. sometimes it also occurs because of attrition of the exposed root or even crown. when this attrition occurs there occurs a sharp edge in the tooth which cause harm to your lip or buccal or tongue tissues which leads to ulcers or hypertrophic tissue.
if a patient with similar complain comes to me i would check for any ulcers or hypertrophic tissue on the inner side of lip because that can sometimes cause numbness of the area..
so you please visit your dentist and ask him to examine inner side of your lip...
there can also be a possibility that you take tobacco. as you have not mentioned it that you have a habit of tobacco chewing or not so i would suggest that if you chew tobacco then there can be a white lesion formed in that area that is causing numbness. so please get it examined properly..
before visiting to dentist you can apply dologel in inner side of your lip.
hope it helps
follow up is invited

Hello,
Thanks for asking your query.

As you are experiencing numbness on the upper left lip, there are chances of any decayed teeth ( upper jaw ) which may present with pulpal infection which in turn may cause upper lip numbness.

But still, visit to dentist for clinical evaluation is best which should be done as soon as possible.

Afterwards, you can start with the desensitizing tooth paste but should be used for slightly longer period to get best results.

Control release painkillers are also useful in such condition.

Take care.
