Tooth Extracted And Bone Implanted To Replace Infected Bone. Will This Complicate The Dental Process Advise?
After about 5 days from getting my front tooth removed, a hole has opened up at the surgery location. I don't know how deep it goes, but have an implanted bone that was put it to replace my infected bone. I don't know if maybe the stitches came loose or what, I am just hoping that this doesn't complicate my dental process. Any information you could possible give me? or maybe some advice/personal experience?
According to your clinical history i suppose that your infected bone is removed and replaced with an implanted bone, dont worry it will take some time to heal usually upto 2-4 months. You just maintain a very good oral hygiene in the region, the sutures are to be removed after a week of time.
You just follow the post surgery instructions given to you. Maintain a very good oral hygiene. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses. Avoid eating of hot and spicy foodstuffs. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
hello as per your description i presume that your tooth ws grossly carious with a very large periapical infection which led to huge amount of bone loss and hence your tooth was removed and the infected area of bone was curretted and since thickness of bone left would have been thin (succeptible to fracture )hence bone graft material was put in the area and than sutures were given to close the wound now bone healing takes around 4-7 weeks (more in old patients and those whose health is compromised)---so for that stay assured as for your stitches --normally stitches get loose after 4-5 days if the wound starts healing , so you have a feeling that they are hanging but to be sure ,that the stitches are not torn ,you may visit your dentist in the meanwhile just what you need to do is 1.maintain good oral hygiene so that the wound site is not infected 2.luke warm saline rinses(add betadine ) 6-8 times daily as it promotes healing manyfold best wishes
HELLO THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR CONCERN IN HCM FORUM AS PER YOUR CLINICAL HISTORY , MINOR SURGICAL PROCEDURE HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON YOU TO REMOVE INFECTED BONE AND REPLACED IT WITH IMPLANTED BONE. DO NOT GET WORRIED , SUCH SOCKETS TAKE 3 TO 4 MONTHS FOR COMPLETE HEALING. BUT STILL IF YOU ARE ANXIOUS ABOUT SUTURES ,VISIT YOUR DENTIST AND GET THE SUTURES EXAMINED. COMPLETE THE COURSE OF ANTIBIOTICS AND ANALGESICS UNDER PRESCRIPTION. START WITH VITAMIN C AND MULTIVITAMIN TABLETS FOR FASTER HEALING. DO WARM WATER RINSES 3 TIMES A DAY. DO NOT LET FOOD ACCUMULATE AT SURGICAL SITE AREA , IT CAN DELAY HEALING. MAINTAIN GOOD ORAL HYGIENE. FOR ANY QUERY , WRITE US BACK. TAKE CARE REGARDS
