HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Emergency contraception is generally effective if taken within 72 hours of intercourse however its effectiveness increases the sooner it is used.
Since you used it the morning after intercourse, it should be highly effective.

Emergency contraception is 85% effective if taken within the first 72 hours.

Because it is a hormonal medication , there can be alteration in menstrual bleeding with its use.
This may be the reason for the extended bleeding that you are experiencing.

It would be best to consider a form of contraception such as the oral contraceptive, injection, patches, condoms, intrauterine devices. These all have higher rates of pregnancy prevention than the emergency contraceptive.

I hope this helps

Hi
It can be withdrawal bleeding due the the hormonal drug you took.Just wait and see. If the bleeding is heavy again consult a gyanecologist to exclude other causes
hope this may help you
