Tingly ripple sensation on left breast reaching nipple area. Should I be concerned?

Hi, I m 41 years and the mother of two children. For the past 4 weeks I am experiencing a tingly ripple like sensation in the mid to outer quadrant of my left breast emanating from the axilla area. This sensation moves along my breast until it reaches the nipple area where it ceases. There are no changes in the physiology of the breast and there is a familial hx of breast cancer (maternal grandmother had a mastectomy at 75years of age) Should I be concerned? Thank you.

Dear Ma'am,

Sorry to hear about your problem. The kind of sensation you are describing is quite common in women of your age and it is usually due to hormonal imbalances. This pain/ sensation usually subsides with time. Considering your family history of cancer and the fact that you are 41 years of age, you should get a mammogram and get yourself evaluated by a breast surgeon.

Hoping for the best.
