Tightness In Chest, Have Cough, Difficulty Breathing, Had Gas. Will This Happen Again?

I was having a shower on Monday evening, during it I coughed a bit then suddenly felt my chest go tight, and I couldn't breath in, and the more I tried the harder it was to breath, I was gasping, my chest was so tight. I eventually managed to start breathing again, and got rid of internal body gas, but I thought I might die there and then and then it was so bad.

Can this reoccur?

The condition you have described is quite tricky and can have plenty of causes depending on your age and health. Most commonly you could have had a hernia, with stomach contents bulging into your chest.The same can be confirmed by a chest X-ray. Sometimes even a reflux disease can present so, and for that you will be needing a course of ant-acids.
Yes, both problems can recur and you should get yourself investigated.
