Thyroid Ultrasound With No Gel, Was It Correct On Her Part ?

Not a few weeks ago, i went to get an thryoid ultra sound. The nurse did not put a gel on my neck before she put that thing on my neck. was it correct on her part ?

Ultrasound investigations are harmless to the body..

Ultrasound is similar to audible sound in that it can pass through water and human organs easily, but it can't pass through air or bone. So gel is applied between the transducer and the skin to bridge the gap, and effectively send the ultrasound waves.
