Thanks for query.as the pain has occurred three years after thyroidectomy probably it might not be a complication of surgery.as you mention your recent radioactive scan was negative .it might be a local pathology responsible for your pain.it is advisible to have a direct laryngoscopy by AB E.N.T surgeon.regards

hi
first - wishing u a happy new year
and welcome to our site

read your query
that is a very interesting question
and i appreciate your problem

i will try my best to answer your query

in your case, it seems that there is possibly some fibrosis developing
which may be causing the pain and discomfort
fibrosis, post operatively is very common feature after all

i would have suggested vitmain E soft gels and pregabalin
to try to relieve the problem
also would have suggested an mri neck
anf thyroid profile to check the thyroid levels are normal

i hope this helps you
inform the reports mentioned above
so i can be of help further
best of luck

(please do understand that some problem remains as
online texting cuts down history and examination
thereby reducing the effectivity
and increasing reliance on tests)
