Throbbing Pains In Head, Twitching Of Arms And Sweating. Advil Has No Effect. What Tests To Take?
My boyfriend is experiencing a throbbing headache in the back of his head (20 days) which Advil no longer helps. He wakes up covered in sweat in the a.m. He is experiencing increasing twitching in his arms. Any thoughts as to what tests he should ask for when we visit a walk-in clinic next week? He has no medical insurance.
The symptoms as mentioned in your post indicate that your friend might be having Trigeminal neuralgia. In your post, you have also mentioned about symptoms of sweating & twitching of arms. Under such circumstances, investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure & blood sugar levels and Thyroid profile will be helpful to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms. A CT scan or MRI of brain will also be helpful.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, avoid stress, exercise regularly & practice meditation.
Wishing your friend a Good Health. Take care.
