Throbbing Pain In Right Eye. History Of Migraines. No Relief With Medicines. Possible Tooth Cavity Causing Pain?

I have a LNG history of migraines and have had a terrible headache for the last three months. My medications are not helping with the pain. The pain is very localized behind the right eye and into the right temple. I've been to the ER to try to get relief, but their normal mix of meds did little to help with the pain. I have had space between the 3rd and fourth molar on the upper right side for years. It of tens collects food particles that I clean out when I floss. I have never experienced any kind of tooth ache in that area. Is it possible that I have a cavity in one of those molars and that the cavity is causing the headache?

Welcoem to HCM!

I have read your question carefully and feel that you have an attack of migraine as there is typical symptom of pain near/behind eye and temple of same side. Tooth ache is ruled out mainly because it is so notorious that you just can't sit with it and need to go to a dentist fast!
More over toothache is quite sharp in nature.

Usually a person has his/her type of migraneous pains, almost same site usually. Younmust be having your type.
If you want, you can get yourself checked by a dentist as this may be an additional factor beyond migraine pain.

Migariane is a chronic pain disorder, disturbing but definitely treatable. In my clinical experience I have seen all these chronic and severe patients getting cured. Usually, such cases respond greatly to TCA and propranolol combination for some months together and some good pain killer like, naproxen sodium and domperidone combination for acute pain relief. One needs to take treatment for some time in case of long history of pain but there is almost 90-95% improvement within one- two weeks!

It is always good to avoid your precipitating factors for migraine , like sunlight, fasting, certain odours, and stress , etc.
Hope this helps you in getting better.
