Throat Pain Getting Worse. Family Members Had Strep Throat. Am I Getting It?

My throat just randomly started hurting at around 2:45 today. It just came out of no where; I had been fine all day up until then. It s been about 7 hours, and the pain has gotten progressively worse. Do you have any idea what this might be? It might also be helpful for me to state that strep throat has been moving through my family recently. However, I don t have any strep symptoms, just a very bad sore throat . Help?

Dear Patient ,

yes there might be a high probability you are developing strep throat since your family members were having it lately . symptoms relevant are sudden severe throat pain with minimum cold symptoms like sneezing and coughing , high fever more than 38.5 C . i would advise you to see your family doctor who will take throat swaps and confirm the disease then will probably prescribe antibiotics for you .
