Three Weeks Post-operation Spotting Started And Have Not Stopped. Is This Normal?

Hi Dr. Lundi,
I had robotic (da vinci) hysterectomy also removing ovaries in November. 3 weeks post-op I started spotting and I have not stopped. I have seen the doctor twice regarding my concern of still bleeding fresh red blood everyday. I have giving the ok to workout at gym, but know sex or tampon till bleeding stops. I ask doctor " How long do I wait for the bleeding to stop to know this isn't right and see you again." He said a month. The doctor says he sees the capillaries and thinks that is it. My question is ... Is this normal? My month is almost up.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

A mild spotting can happen after the hysterectomy. This usually stops on its own and does not need any treatment. You can wait and see if it stops on its own.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Rakhi Tayal, OBGYN
