Thick, White, Clumpy Discharge While Taking Nidagel. Will This Go Away On Its Own?
Hi, I recently finished a 5 day treatment of Nidagel about a day and a half ago. Throughout the treatment I had thick, white and clumpy discharge. Even though I am done the treatment I still have this discharge. I m not sure what I need to do. Will this go away on it s own or do I have to go back in to see another doctor?
Hi Welcome to health care magic. If you are having white discharge even after 5 days of Nidagel treatment then maybe you are having some different infection that is not sensitive to this drug. This can be if the organism is gram positive bacteria or fungus. In that case you should send a gram stain and culture report of your vagina discharge and try to identify the organism and start treatment as per the culture report, that will be more predictable and likely will give more successful results. I hope the advice will be helpful for you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, The white clumpy discharge you have is a sign of vaginal infection. Actually Nidagel is used for treating fungal vaginitis,(which usually has itching) However, it needs local medications ( vaginal pessaries, cream) for a cure. Also treatment of both partners is essential. is needed for complete cure. please consult a Gynecologist for local check up /investigations( vaginal swab testing)& the specific treatment . Thanks
