1. Get a video stroboscopy done and post the images or video. You may send a voice recording, detailed clinical, findings, images or video to doctor@healthcaremagic.com with 'Attn: Dr. Sumit Bhatti' in the subject line or via a free file sharing site such as www.filesanywhere.com
2. The commonest problem would be Reinke's edema or vocal (singer's) nodules. A sulcus vocalis due to acid reflux and changes of chronic laryngitis would also affect your singing voice and cause vocal fatigue.

Is it possible that the Opalescence 35% tooth whitening gel I have been using could be affecting my vocal cords?. I m a 53yr old male, 5 11 , 195 lbs. I have also spent the last 2 yrs undergoing major periodontal surgeries which all went well, thank you.

I have three cysts on my thyroid diagnosed 6 mths ago. Biopsied and are benign. One on the right side is large. Six months and no change in size. Doctor says the risk in surgery can affect my vocal chords. I sing, so this is profound. I feel the cyst at times, but no real problems. She says we should see in 6 mths any change in size or symptoms. Bloodwork shows my thyroid fuctioning is not affected. Two questions: 1) can my vocal chords be affected with the cyst there? and 2) is my left ear having a frequent feeling of congestion related in any way to this?

Hello Sir, My query is for Dr. Manoranjan ,MD ( Thyroid Specialist ). Recently my husband has a swelling in his left thyroid for which we immediately went to the ENT for treatment . First he gave some antibiotic for 7 days ( Fibolyte and Serratiopeptidase ), so that it would subside but it did not for which he asked us for the USG of thyroid and FNCA of the left Thyroid. The FNCA report was as follows:- Aspirate yielded 0.5 ml of brownish colored fluid. The smears show degenerative changes, few clusters of benign follicluar cells. Fair Hemosiderin layden Macrophanges and scattered inflammatory cells. Capillary clustered &/or psamamma bodies are not seen . Impression : Benign degenerated cyst of the thyroid My husband (40 Yrs) on hypertension medication since last 3 yrs (Telma H 40) He is asked to undergo thyroid lobectomy . Is it necessary at the very first place (b coz some say its OK even if it is there as its benign)? and if yes what are its side effects. do they really change the voice quality and how long does the procedure take? What complications may arise during the procedure ? Will he need to take thyroid supplements after the lobectomy. Kindly guide us as we are not able to make decision as the area to be operated is really very delicate.

On New Years I got a really bad cold and I have Asthma . I started on Prednisone (because of the Asthma) right away. I ended up in the E.R. 2 days later, because of breathing problems. I was sent home after a nebulizer with an antobiotic and cough syrup with codiene. I went to an Asthma speacilist to find out why I was having so many problems. He said besides Asthma, I have a vocal chord dysfunction and gave me breathing exercises. I have been doing O.K. for the last week, but this morning had a coughing fit that felt like something sharp in my throat. Can you help me with this? I am 54 yrs. old and a regular exerciser
