The middle part of body jerked forward, woke up from sleep. Why ?

when I was justgoing to fall asleep, the middle part of my body ( stomach , chest ) jerked forward causing me to wake up. and 10 minutes after that I was trying to sleep again. then i pictured my fingers getting pricked by a sharp object which caused me to violenly my arm upwards and made me wake up. i also sweat a lot during sleep and this is the first time this happened to me.

The sudden jerking of the body in the sleep is due to a sudden nerve stimulation due to nerve root irritation at the level of spinal cord. If this has happened for the first time, then there is no need to worry.
