Teenager. Have Sickle Cell And Epilepsy. Prescribed Levetiracet Am 1000mg, Levetiracet 250mg. Explain

hello, I have a 15 year old who is visiting me for a few weeks. He came with three prescriptions.
Levetiracet am 1000 mg tablet to take 2x a day and Levetiracet 250 MG tablet to take 4 tablets by mouth 2x's a day.
He has sickle cell & epilepsy. Not sure as to why the same medication in 2 different forms. I called the doctors office and left a message for a call back.

You have done the right thing by calling up the doctor and leaving a message. It appears that there is some confusion either during prescribing or the dispensing stage and should be corrected. This medicine is basically to control convulsions.
