Teary Puffy Eyes. Tears Dry And Close The Eye At Night. What Can Be Done?

my daughter has had teary puffy eyes for a week now. At first i thought it was just a little draft from the night time that couldve made it that way but its been more than a week and still i have to wipe her eyes every now and then and also when she sleeps the tears basically dries and closes up the eye so i have to take a warm cloth to wipe tit out before she can ope her eyes. What can this be and what do i need to do?

Hello

It seems that she might be suffering from acute conjunctivitis in her eyes. You should give her hot fomentation and use anti-biotic eye drops 3 hourly. Also, use an anti-biotic eye ointment at night. You should give her anti-inflammatory and multi-vitamin tablets (or syrup)orally for a few days.

Fomites i.e. hankerchief/towels etc meant of child's eye separately to maintain hygiene and prevent cross infection.
