Taking Calpol For Cough, Congestion, Fever, Watery Eyes. Any Extra Medication Required?

Hi, My son is 4 and a half years old and is sufering from cough congestion, fever of 101.5F and watery eyes when he goes for sleep. I am giving him Calpol 250mg 5ml each every 6hrs for fever and nothing else. But, he is suffering from cold for last 2 days and I didn't see much improvement. Can you let me know if any extra medications is required to help my child breath easy. When the fever touches 102, his breathing is also very fast.

He is active all time. But, for the last 2 days he is very dull. Pls guide me.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Your child is having upper respiratory symptoms which are mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
Continue with calpol when fever is above 100F.
Combination of antiallergic with decongestant can be given 3times a day .
Give plenty of fluids and bland diet.
Steam inhalation will be soothing.
Hope this helps.
Take care...
