Taking Ayurvedic treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis, suffering from joint pain & stiffness throughout the day. Suggestions ?

Hi Doctor, I am 27 yrs old and suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis since last 1.3 year. I was taking allopathic medicines for 3-4 months initially after consulting the orthopaedic specialist but there was not much improvement as the pain remains all the time even after taking medicines & pain killer. I was also told by some doctors to switch to Ayurvedic or Homeopathy treatment as there is no cure of RA in Allopathy , therefore, since last 3 months, I have been taking Ayurvedic and Homeopathy treatments simultaneous but still I am suffering from joint pain & stiffness throughout the day. As per Doctor, the recovery is not so easy, therefore, the result will be seen gradually. I trust my doctors, and hence continuing their medicines but also I wanted to get a second opinion on this. Please provide your valuable suggestion. Also, from many sources, I ve heard about Nutrilite products from Amway. I understand it s not a medicine instead a food supplement but does it helps in fast recovery from R.A or anyway helpful ? If so, which Nutrilite product will be good for R.A curing ? If not, Nutrilite products then any other supplements you would recommend ? Thanking You,

Ayurveda Specialist 's  Response
1. As the disease is Auto Immune in nature, deformities (if any) will be difficult to cure.
2. no treatment reliably stops progression of this disease, thus treatment and management is directed towards preventing further deformity.
3. since age is 27 consult with a rheumatologist for HLA-B27 to rule out Ankylosing Spondylitis.
4. Avoid dairy products, sweet, oily, fast foods, cold breeze and excessive wind and slight walk after consuming your meals.
5. Avoid stress to back and spine, curd, milk, jaggery, constipating food
6. Guggulu is the best known medicine for this condition and you can seek Ayurveda Physician for the same.

Homeopath Dr. Rangadhar Satapathy's  Response

Welcome to HCM

Rhematoid arthritis is an auto immune disorder. An auto immune disorder start when your own immune system attack your own cells thinking of a foreign cells. In rhematoid arthritis your joints are getting affected by your own immune attack. So there are inflammation, cartilage degeneration, erosion of bones starts as a disease progress. The treatment is only to releive pain and inflammation and to make the patient mobility. But homeopathic treatment believe to treat in two way 1) helps to treat the existing symptoms like pain, inflamation, stiffness , fever etc 2) it also help to target the body immune system to modify to bring back to its normal condition. That is possible by the constituional homeopathic treatment. Yes ofcourse it will take a considerable time to get the noticable changes. But it is highly required a proper treatment with a sincere supervision and regular follow up. Another thing I would like to advise that do not continue two treatment like aurveda and homeopathy at a time. Every treatment has its own modus operandi and principle of treatment. So both aurveda and homeopathy treatment at a time will not give any result. You must choose one among them.

Regarding nutralite as i know a food supplement so anybody can take a food supplemental for a healthy reason. But there is no therapeutic value in rhematoid arthritis

Thank you
