Taken Contraceptive Pill Frequently. No Periods, Vaginal Bleeding, Back Pain, Lower Abdominal Pain, Breast Tenderness. Suggestions?

Hi, I am 17 years old. I was in a sexual relationship with my boyfriend till he went abroad last month. I used to take the contraceptive pill a little too often. I had it 2-3 times in July. The last time I had it was on 24th July. And I had my last period in mid July. After that I haven t had my period yet, except for some vaginal bleeding on 1-2 August. From the past 8-10 days I have been having back pain . It has reached my lower abdomen too and its increasing. Also, I had breast tenderness for two days on 7-8th September. I am fearing the possibility of pregnancy even though the home pregnancy tests showed negative twice in the past month, the latest test being on 5th September. I went to a local gynecologist today, but they didn t look into my case since I am under-age. Please suggest as to what I should do. I feel really helpless.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us.
It is extremely undesirable to take the emergency contraceptive frequently and casually.
It is not a substitute for regular contraception.
It would interfere with your normal menstrual cycles, and hence what you experienced in August was mostly withdrawal to the pill taken on 24th July.
As the pregnancy tests are negative do not worry.
Wait it out for fifteen days, if you do not have a period by then, insist on a gynecological evaluation
All the best.
