hello doctor my friend had sex with her husband and she took unwanted 72 after 20 hours of having sex......before 4 days of having sex she got her periods.......and yes after 7 days of taking this pill she got periods again only for one and a half day........is there any chance of pregnancy for her.......22nd of may she finished with her normal periods 26th night she had sex 27th she has taken pill and 4th of june she got her period again only for one and a half day.......pls rply as soon as possible........on YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for the query.

Emergency pill can alter the menstrual cycle depending on the period of the cycle when she took the pill.
As she took the pill in the first half of the cycle, it might have preponed the bleeding.

The chance of pregnancy is less in her case. Because:
-She was not in fertile period when she had intercourse.
-She took the emergency pill within 72 hours of the act.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Bleeding after taking pill could be due to hormonal pill what she has taken, need not have to worry, its one of the common side effect of pill.
AS she had sex in safer period of her cycle chances of pregnancy are negligible.
