Take Only Sponge Baths With A Cloth, Dry Skin. Is This A Health Issue?

I have a tenant that move in 1 month ago and she has not bath or showered in 1 month she says she sponge baths with a cloth only all her life because she has dry skin . I m afraid that her body germs may cause her and my teenage kids in the house to get sick. Is this a health issue? or would you recommend she bathes at least every other day which is what I m asking of her to do.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Even if your tenant doesnt bathe, it is not going to be health hazard or risk for anyone in your family.
I understand that she has a dry skin. People with dry skin should avoid very hot water or long baths. A lukewarm short shower or tepid bath would do the trick. Sometimes people with dry skin are advised sponge baths but personally I do not prefer it for hygiene issues. So to be precise, short lukewarm shower, using mild oatmeal or glycerine based soap and application of an intensive moisturiser immediately after bath should do the trick.
Hope this helped.
Take care
