Swollen Rugae, Sensitive Inner Mouth Cavity, Swollen Lymph Node And Gums. Is This Infection Or Herpeangina?

Hello, what could this be: Symptoms include swollen rugae, left side of inner mouth cavity sensitive, left lymph node swollen, noticeable bleeding from the gums, slightly swollen gums. Is this more likely to be bacterial or a viral infection? Also, prior to this there was some vomiting and sore throat, could it be Herpangina? Thank you in advance.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding swollen and painfull gums with tendency for bleeding and rough inner aspect of cheek on left side. You had also enlarged neck nodes on left side.

Your symptoms are clearly indicating for gum lnfection with cervical lymphadenitis. As far as nature of infection is concerned (bacterial or viral) .This may be easily clarifyed by doing culture and sensitivity of saliva.

For making suitable diagnosis these basic investigations are necessary-

1- FNAC from cervical lymph node.

2- Culture & Sensitivity of saliva.

3- scrap cytology from gums.

With the help of above investigations one may pin point the diagnosis, that may be accordingly manage.

I think your query is answered.

Regards.
