Swollen Lip, Tightness After Cauterizing Hpv Warts On Lip Under Local Anesthesia. Normal?

I just had two very ugly hpv warts cauterized by my dermatologist about an hour ago. They were in the corner of my mouth on the lip. My upper lip is now swollen to the point of it looking like I have a small white grape growing from my lip. It is a very round, tight concentrated area of swelling. It almost looks and feels as if it isn't even my lip but something swelling out of my lip. How much swelling is normal after lip cauterization under local injected anesthesia? Thank you. K

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

The swelling on your lips may be due to the side effect or reaction of local anesthetic solution administered.

The swelling will subside once the duration of action of local anesthetic solution has completed.

I would advice you to apply Dologel on the affected site.

Avoid spicy foods, tobacco chewing or smoking.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Take care.
