Swollen, Itchy Lips With Hives And Bruises In Body After Taking Macrobid For UTI. Is This Due To Side Effect?

Hello I was presricbed the medication macrobid for a UTI . i was instrusted to take for 10 days 2 pills a day I started on sat and on weds I woke up with a swollen lip itching and hives all over .I then stopped taking the medication but now a whole week later I am still experincing the same symptoms and now my lips are dark in color and I HAVE WHAT LOOKS TO BE BRUISES ON MY THIGHS I AM CONCERNED PLEASE HELP. thank you

Thanks for query on HCM.
This type of side effect is not commonly seen,but you may have drug reaction.
Some drugs can not be given with macrobid.
You have to consult your treating doctor and review your medicines.
Otherwise start oral mild steroid with levocetrizine to subside allergic reaction.
Apply calamine,aloevera lotion on body to get cool effect.
It will subside within next 7 to 10 days.
Drink more water and other liquids.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
