Swollen, hard and hot area on lower leg. Red rash on skin, painful to touch

Lower leg - large (6 x4 ) swollen area. Hard, hot. Felt like a big bruise yesterday. Left Shin area -- both sides of tibia , but mainly along bone on inside and spreading out to muscle on outside. Slightly red/rashy on skin. better today than last night.. Only slight pain on touch -- tightness. What could be -- what to do?

HI there,
it seems like you are suffering from Cellulitis,which is the infection of the soft tissues of the area.
I think that you definitely require oral and topical antibiotics plus some anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen 400mg three times a day after your meals.
you need to see your GP to prescribe you with anti biotic as they are not available otc.
