Swollen Eyes, Red, Teary, Itching. History Of Being Allergic To Eye Drops For Severe Pink Eyes. Off All Medications. Any Remedy To Relieve Itching And Swelling?

my daughter, age 30 has a severe case of pink eye and has seen a dr who gave her eye drops that she was unknowingly allergic to. (some type of sulfate, thinking it was bacterial infection) Now her eyes are extremely swollen, still red and teary and itching. the dr took her off all meds for eyes and said it will just have to run its course and to take Benadryl (2 pills) since just taking 1 was not working well. and to use cold compresses. and be very careful about not spreading to her 2 young children. (age 6 and 4)
is there anything else she can do to help relieve the itching and swelling?

hello. yes for swollen eyes you can use pencilline eye ointment. and continue benadryl it will relieve the symptoms. wash her eyes 4 times a day wild cold water.
