Swollen ankles. Why is period irregular? Due to diving?

Hello, this year I just turned 40 and have had no period for several months, apart from once. I have never been very regular or had heavy periods and considering my age I just presumed that I was having my menopause . I also have been doing some diving recently and have found in the past that this affects my cycle. Lately I am getting swollen ankles... but I have been sitting for 12 hours... and I in a hot area... and remote so cannot see a doctor. Should I be concerned???

Thanks for writing to us.
The swelling in the ankles could be due to sitting for long hours. This will subside on resting. The missing periods could be due to menopause.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
