Swelling Near Kidney Area After Fall, Pinched Nerve, Shooting Pain. What Can Happen?

I was climing up into a top bunk bed...lost my footing a slipped and fell backwards very hard into the edge of a dresser. For a week now the pain is severe, at first it felt swollen and like someone had taken a 2x4 to my right kidney ...then it felt like a pinched nerve and shooting pain...now it feels like both. The pain is not going away after a week...not sure what is going on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello user,

I advice you to take a X-ray of the back and pelvis and have orthopedic workup done to find any problem with bones, as the feeling of pinched nerve is seen in nerve impingement in vertebral column, and also the pain is not subsiding even after a week !

hope my info helped you
regards,
Dr Hari Om Chandrakar
