Swelling In Testicle Resembling Hydrocele, Erectile Issues And Frequent Urination. History Of Hydrocele. Diabetes In Family. Any Connection?

I am 46 years old an during the last 2 weeks I have noticed a combination of worrying symptoms. Firstly, I found a swelling on my left testicle which feels very much like the hydrocele I last had a few years back. Secondly, I'm having erectile issues and thirdly,I'm urinating a little and very often. My father has type 2 diabetes. Is there a connection?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your querry.
It sounds like hydrocele again and also there can be urinary infection. I suggest to do testicle ultrasounds and plan surgical treatment. Also do urinoculture and kidney function tests and prostate ultrasound. Frequent urinating can be caused by prostate enlargement. Diabetes can be exluded by measuring blood sugar. Wish you good health.
